New Jersey DWI Laws

New Jersey has some of the toughest DWI laws in the United States. DWI is the acronym for Driving While Intoxicated. Sometimes this is referred to as DUI, Driving Under the Influence. These laws come under the heading Traffic Violations. The objective is to prevent inebriated drivers from causing injury or damages to themselves or others.

The capacity to hold liquor varies from person to person. But that is immaterial before the law. If a driver has 0.08% or more of alcohol by weight in his blood, he can be booked for DWI. Earlier, the limit was 0.10%. Now if the alcohol reading is 0.10% or more the penalties are more stringent. The punishment is also graded, for first offense, second offense and so on. It includes a combination of imprisonment, fine, suspension of license and counseling sessions. To decide prior offenses, similar charges faced by the accused in other states will also be counted. The time gap between the two offenses would also be relevant. If the offense takes place within 1,000 feet of an elementary or secondary school there would be additional fines and a condition to do community work.

If the owner lends his vehicle to another person and that person is caught for DWI, the owner still faces legal action. Under DWI laws intoxication doesnt only mean the intake of alcohol beyond the permitted level. It could mean drugs and a whole array of intoxicating substances, which include even use of inhalers and certain prescription medicines.

A person who is under the influence of alcohol or any of the substances listed in the statute could be booked even for opening his car. A citizen drinking in a parked vehicle can have the same fate. In such cases the state has to prove intention to drive.

Notice is to be issued within ninety days of the alleged infringement. An appearance in court is mandatory. There is a guideline that the case is to be heard within sixty days, but this may not be always practical. In such situations it may be possible for the accused to assert his right to a speedy trial.

A Municipal Court Judge tries DWI cases. There is no right to trial by jury.

How To Prevent A Relapse Into Anorexia

You may find yourself having anorexic tendencies again, even after having completed a course of therapy and treatment. While you may not be in any immediate danger, you need to take steps to ensure that you do not have a relapse.

An anorexia eating disorder is a deep-rooted problem of the mind. If you have this condition, you may find it difficult to be happy with yourself and the way you look. This is why you have to undergo therapy to treat an anorexia eating disorder in the first place. Therapy will not treat the causes of anorexia though. Any recovery still depends on yourself, the way you think and improving your self esteem. There are some things that you can do to prevent from ever having a relapse.

The main thing that you need to look into is to think about why you became anorexic in the first place. What were you trying to achieve with the weight loss? Love and acceptance from family members and/or friends? If you think about this in comparison to the things you already have, you will realize that being really thin is insignificant. There are better ways to get the things that you thought you could get from losing weight.

On the other hand, if the media has influenced you, then you should avoid the media. This may mean that you have to give up watching the TV shows such as Project Runway or fashion magazines that depict thin models. Instead, nourish your mind with self improvement books and workshops that emphasize on self healing and building your confidence.

To deal with your anorexia eating disorder and to prevent a relapse, you need to form a meal plan. You do not want to limit the amount of nutrition that you intake though. Instead, you should make sure that your body has a wide variety of foods. This will ensure that you get all of the nutrients you need. As such, you should eat whole grains, fruits and vegetables. They will provide you with the vitamins and minerals that your body requires.

Including a moderate amount of exercise in life will help you to stay in good shape and help with these anorexia symptoms. Of course, you do not want to over-indulge in exercise. Nevertheless, engaging in a thirty to sixty minute workout three to five times a week will keep you in shape.

If none of these cures for anorexia symptoms feel as though they are working then talk to your doctor. Tell him that you are having anorexic thoughts again. If you do not think that the first treatment was beneficial, try a different form of treatment.

You should never give in to your desire to relapse. An anorexia eating disorder can kill you if you allow it to happen once again. You may not realize that your previous symptoms have already caused plenty of damage internally already and you would not want to die from it. College Football and Catfish!

College football is only a few weeks away and I'm having a hard time waiting for the opening kick-off! My enthusiasm for this time of year is twofold; I start thinking about river fishing and listening to the University of Alabama play football on Saturday afternoons.

For more years than I care to remember, I've spent a lot of my Saturday afternoons in autumn, on my boat anchored in the middle of the Tennessee River, just about a mile downstream from the Guntersville Dam where big catfish roam!

With my radio tuned to a station that carried broadcasts of the Crimson Tide and two rods baited with chicken liver, I would spend a leisurely afternoon fishing and cheering for the "Tide". If I were out of range from a station that carried my team, I would tune to any SEC school that I could receive on my old battery powered radio.

Saturdays on the Tennessee River in autumn are usually warm and calm but without the stifling heat of summer. Usually only one or two of the turbines at the dam are churning the water to white foam, while making the current downstream gentle and peaceful. The old song, "Up a Lazy River" really applies to this 652 mile long ribbon of water. On peaceful weekends in the fall when the days are cooling down a little, big catfish that hide up and down the river in holes and caves near the banks, come out to find their afternoon snacks.

There have been many huge catfish caught on the Tennessee River. The largest I have ever seen weighed 105 pounds. There have been pictures of even larger catches up and down the river. The largest I've caught was 34 pounds and to me it was like trying to reel in a concrete block.

It really doesn't matter how many or how large a fish I catch on the idyllic days of autumn. It's just being there on the river away from everyone that makes those moments memorable, fish or no fish!

The third Saturday in October is always my favorite weekend to spend on the river. That's the weekend that the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee hold their annual football rivalry. When the game is being played in Knoxville, you may see boats headed there to the stadium on the banks of the Tennessee River. There are usually pennants flying, announcing the favorite team of the owners of the boats.

In October the leaves are changing colors up and down the river. Nature has arranged a palette with every color imaginable; free for viewing by anyone fortunate enough to be on the water at this time of year! I often see Bald Eagles gliding elegantly over the water looking for dinner and making the day for me just a little more tranquil.

The serenity of the river and its tree lined banks is often broken by a fish having the nerve to gobble up my bait. When that happens, I hurriedly drag him on board so I can get back to my leisurely afternoon. Other times the spell is broken by cheering coming from the radio. Someone just made a touchdown! If the team that scored is one of state universities, somewhere along the river you'll hear a cheer coming from someone like me, taking advantage of a beautiful day.

Fall fishing is a balm for the soul. It's a time to set aside everything that has to do with work and stress. Get out into the river with a boat and either drift or anchor. Then all you have to do is to listen to the leaves falling. Never mind the fish!
